Sd308 is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to provide school-based therapy under supervision, enhancing students’ access to learning. The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, families, and the OT team to implement effective plans.

Applicants should hold an OTA degree (or OT), Illinois licensure, and NBCOT COTA certification, with preferred experience in special needs and educational settings.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's degree (or Bachelor's) from an accredited OTA program.
• Illinois licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Pass NBCOT COTA exam.
• Experience with individuals with special needs preferred.
• Experience in educational OT settings desirable.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with students, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT services under the supervision of a licensed OT (OTR) in school settings.
• Document service delivery and student performance; monitor intervention progress.
• Communicate progress and concerns to the supervising OTR; collaborate with educational team.
• Maintain OT equipment and assist with IEP/MTSS planning and meetings.
• Support students' participation in educational routines and access to the curriculum.
