Job summary

Vermont Learning Collaborative is partnering with Springfield School District to recruit and hire a full-time Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic and growing team in Windsor, Vermont.

The role involves evaluating students, developing IEP-based interventions, delivering direct therapy, and collaborating with teachers, parents and other professionals to support educational goals. License and VT eligibility required, with supervision of OT assistants.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Appropriate licensure required for Occupational Therapy.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required for employment in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assesses students' fine and gross motor skills and functional abilities to determine program eligibility and plan treatment.
• Interprets assessments and ensures IEP suitability.
• Develops IEPs and interventions to remediate motor skill deficits and support educational goals.
• Delivers direct occupational therapy services and consults to develop functional skills in school settings.
• Identifies barriers and recommends assistive technology or environmental modifications in classrooms.
• Administers therapy procedures to achieve IEP objectives.
• Collaborates with parents, teachers and other staff to coordinate therapy services.
• Supervises OT assistants and support staff to ensure IEP goals are met.
• Trains students, staff and parents on devices and remediation plans.
• Maintains documentation including logs, evaluations and Medicaid billing as required.
• Participates in meetings and training to support service delivery.
• Conducts site visits across multiple schools to assess needs and deliver services.
• Performs other related duties to ensure effective operation of the program.
