Job summary

The Joshua School is seeking an Occupational Therapist to deliver targeted interventions for sensory integration and motor skills within a school setting. You will collaborate with the Lead Teacher and Program Director to craft student-specific OT plans and provide staff guidance on implementing recommendations.

You will supervise a COTA, conduct intake evaluations, and document progress to support IEP objectives.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy and licensure.
• Colorado Special Services Provider License (CDE).
• Preferred: 2+ years' experience with autism/developmental disabilities.
• Experience with autism, Fragile X, Down syndrome, and other developmental disabilities.
• Must be at least 21 years old and reliable.
• Valid Colorado driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement OT interventions addressing sensory integration and gross/fine motor skills.
• Collaborate with Lead Teacher and Program Director to develop student-specific OT plans.
• Provide supervision to COTA; train staff on OT recommendations and strategies.
• Evaluate intake results and write concise OT profiles from assessments and interviews.
• Monitor progress, adjust programming, and document OT services for IEP objectives.
• Attend IEP/BIP meetings and provide relevant OT input.
• Assist with equipment adaptations and staff training for OT services.

Education

Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy, Clinical Certification of Competence, and License to practice

Colorado Department of Education Special Services Provider License

Preferred: Minimum of 2 years' experience with children with autism and/or developmental disabilities

Experience with disabilities relating to autism, Fragile X Syndrome, Down Syndrome, other Developmental Disabilities

Minimum age of 21

Mature and reliable

Good driving record and valid Colorado driver's license
