Job summary

Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy in Rhode Island seeks a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide evaluations, direct services to scholars, and consultation to teachers.

You will develop individual education programs, maintain case records, collaborate with school personnel, and support modification of student plans. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; RI licensure and OT credential required; equity-centered practice expected.

Qualifications

• OT certification is required and RI license must be active.
• Completion of an accredited OT education program with fieldwork.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy evaluations and recommended diagnostic services as needed.
• Provide direct services to scholars as individuals and/or groups.
• Provide consultation to teachers.
• Consult and collaborate with other school personnel in gathering and giving information on a case and in establishing respective roles in the modification of the student’s program.
• Maintain sufficient case records and follow referral and tracking procedures.
• Maintain sufficient case records to meet state regulation requirements, document status as need, and provide staff with up-to-date management and assessment data when needed.
• Serve as a member of a team that will develop an individual education program for each of the scholars enrolled.
• Other such duties as required by the Special Education Administrator.
