Job summary

Burnett Staffing Specialists is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in multiple locations, including Houston, TX, within a K-12 setting. The OT will collaborate with teachers and families, provide individual or group sessions, and document progress to maintain program compliance. This is a full‑time, school‑hours contract role.

Qualifications

• ACOTE-accredited OT program graduate (Master’s or Doctorate)
• Completion of fieldwork/clinical rotations (typically 24 weeks)
• NBCOT certification and active OTR status
• Active state OT license (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to pass required school background screening

Responsibilities

• Evaluate student needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual‑motor integration, and functional participation
• Support students in meeting IEP goals through targeted OT services
• Recommend classroom strategies, environmental modifications, and adaptive equipment
• Provide individual and/or group therapy sessions
• Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and families
• Document progress and maintain compliance with school‑based service requirements
