Job summary

Sylvania in New York, City of Geneva, is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 12- to 13-week contract. The role pays $250 per day and requires a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy and licensure (HCPC compliance).

The OT will support students with diverse disabilities, implement IEPs, collaborate with health professionals, and ensure timely progress notes and Medicaid billing while traveling to MVSE sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited Occupational Therapy program approved by HCPC.
• Pass the Licensure test- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Exam.
• Experience writing and implementing IEPs.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Ability to support students with a moderate to severe range of disabilities, including Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Emotional Disabilities, and Multiple Disabilities that include medically fragile students
• Provide therapy utilizing evidence-based practice, research, scientific evidence, and a holistic perspective to promote independence for students.
• Provide therapy that promotes students' functional ability to fulfill their daily routines and access their education.
• Work collaboratively with other therapists and health care professionals outside the school team to ensure a comprehensive therapy plan from school to home.
• Continuously assess and evaluate student progress.
• Prepare and submit paperwork on time, including Medicaid billing
• Ability to use own transportation to travel to sites throughout the MVSE Cooperative
