Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing seeks an occupational therapist to support students in a Newark, CA school setting. The OT will assess, plan, and deliver services to enhance fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and adaptive skills.

Collaboration with teachers, families, and staff is essential to align OT goals with IEPs and classroom routines. Qualified candidates hold a California OT license (OTR/L) and have school-based experience.

Qualifications

• Active California OT license (OTR/L) required or eligible.
• Experience in a school-based setting preferred.
• Strong ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families.
• Familiarity with IEP goals and documentation.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Adaptable and resourceful to support diverse students.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive OT assessments to identify student needs and growth.
• Develop and implement individualized interventions supporting fine motor, sensory, self-care, and adaptive skills.
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on OT goals and progress.
• Collaborate with educators and parents to integrate therapy into classroom routines.
• Track progress and maintain records per district and legal guidelines.
• Offer consultation and training to staff on strategies and accommodations.
