Qualifications

• Knowledge of human development across lifespan in educational settings.
• Thorough knowledge of occupational therapy theory, methods, and practice.
• Familiarity with federal/state/local OT regulations in schools.
• Strong proficiency with evaluation tools and assessment reports.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to research evidence-based therapy interventions.
• Ability to collaborate with school staff, families, and agencies.
• Ability to interpret evaluations and write comprehensive reports.
• Ability to establish positive working relationships with students and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assess students using appropriate evaluation tools to determine need for therapy.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy programs.
• Document screenings, evaluations, IEPs, progress and related data.
• Provide consultation with teachers and staff on student function.
• Deliver classroom programs and adaptive equipment or environmental modifications.
• Consult with parents/guardians on therapy plans.
• Adapt, fabricate and maintain therapy equipment as needed.
• Identify equipment options and funding sources for student needs.
• Provide in-service training to staff on inclusion and supports for students.
