Rapides Parish School District is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for the J. B. LaFargue Special Education Center in Alexandria, LA. Immediate start on a nine- to ten-month term with a teacher salary schedule.

The role involves evaluating students, providing OT/PT services, collaborating with the IEP team, and advising education staff on motor skills development. Salary starts at $42,810 per year.

Qualifications

• Certification and licensure as required by state education and medical boards.
• Eligibility: citizenship, residency or work visa.

Responsabilités

• Screen and evaluate students for occupational therapy/physical therapy.
• Serve as a multidisciplinary team member during student evaluations.
• Provide direct and indirect services to students per established procedures.
• Offer consultant services to teachers and other professionals.
• Review and evaluate materials and activities for motor skills in students.
• Maintain appropriate records.
• Participate in the student’s IEP as a team member.
• Facilitate home–school communication related to OT/PT issues affecting education.
• Assist in securing yearly physician orders for eligible students.
• Maintain inventory of OT/PT equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Special Education.
