Job summary

Laurel Public Schools in Laurel, Montana seeks an Occupational Therapist for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is available at 0.6 to 1.0 FTE and begins immediately, with salary ranging from $43,675 to $90,205 for the full year depending on experience and district placement.

The OT will assess students, design and implement therapy plans aligned with IEPs/504 Plans, deliver interventions, and collaborate closely with teachers and families to support functional development.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in occupational therapy from ACOTE-accredited program.
• Completion of at least six months of supervised fieldwork.
• Active Montana state license to practice occupational therapy.
• Ability to work with children and adults.
• Ability to perform the duties outlined in a consistent and proficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Assess students’ fine motor, sensory, self-care, and functional skills to determine therapy needs.
• Create and implement therapy plans aligned with IEPs or 504 Plans.
• Deliver one-on-one or small-group interventions to support participation in academic activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, counselors, and families.
• Assist students in managing sensory processing challenges to improve focus and participation.
• Develop handwriting and other motor skills necessary for school success.
