Job summary

AHRC New York City in Brooklyn seeks a School Age Occupational Therapist for Brooklyn Blue Feather in Sheepshead Bay, NY. This full-time role follows a 10-month school year with a 30‑day summer session, and hours from 8:30 A.M.

to 3:30 P.M., Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include reviewing assessment data, setting short and long‑term goals, preparing IEPs and progress reports, and collaborating with classroom staff to maximize function and compensate for difficulties with purposeful

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Occupational Therapy.
• New York State license required.
• Pediatric experience highly preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with children with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret assessment data and present attending students’ needs and capabilities.
• Establish relevant and attainable short term and long term goals which reflect assessment data.
• Prepare IEP, daily treatment plans and Progress Reports as needed.
• Work within the classroom setting and work with classroom staff to create an environment which maximizes function and compensates for dysfunction.
• Provide purposeful activities or methods, employed to develop, maintain, improve, restore and/or maximize function and compensate for dysfunction.
