AHRC New York City is seeking a School Age Occupational Therapist for Brooklyn Blue Feather in Sheepshead Bay, NY. This full-time role offers a 10-month program with a 30-day summer session, aligning with a typical school calendar.

Review assessment data, create meaningful IEPs and treatment plans, and collaborate with classroom staff to foster functional outcomes for children with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• Pediatric experience preferred.
• New York State license required.
• OT degree from accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret assessment data and present student needs and capabilities.
• Establish short-term and long-term IEP goals reflecting assessment data.
• Prepare IEPs, daily treatment plans and progress reports as needed.
• Work within the classroom setting with staff to maximize function and compensate for dysfunction.
• Provide purposeful activities to develop, maintain, and maximize function.

Role Description:

• Full Time | Monday-Friday
• Hours: 8:30 A.M-3:30 P.M
• 10 month program with 30 day summer session

Responsibilities include:

• Review and interpret assessment data and present attending students’ needs and capabilities.
• Establish relevant and attainable short term and long term goals which reflect assessment data.
• Prepare IEP, daily treatment plans and Progress Reports as needed.
• Work within the classroom setting and work with classroom staff to create an environment which maximizes function and compensates for dysfunction.
• Provide purposeful activities or methods, employed to develop, maintain, improve, restore and/or maximize function and compensate for dysfunction.
