Job summary

The SASED Program is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 12-week leave coverage beginning October 2026, located at the Member District Building.

Responsibilities include assessment, intervention, IEP planning, discharge planning, and collaboration with the educational team. Candidates must hold a degree in OT, NBCOT certification, and an Illinois license; strong communication and independent work skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in occupational therapy and NBCOT certification; Illinois OT license required.
• Strong management, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and seek resources and support.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework.

Responsibilities

• Determine needs for assessment and provide strategies to support students before referrals.
• Identify and utilize assessment tools and methods.
• Collaborate with the educational team to set goals and outcomes for IEPs.
• Develop intervention plans with measurable goals and priorities.
• Implement intervention plans directly or with team members.
• Adapt environment and activities to student needs and provide clear directions.
• Embed interventions into daily routines and ensure safe management of students.
• Reassess therapy effectiveness and modify plans as needed.
• Communicate progress with data and reports; write concise, thorough reports.
• Terminate services using exit guidelines in collaboration with the team.
• Follow district policies; manage resources to meet student needs.
