Job summary

Ascend Rehab Services, Inc. is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist to join our Contra Costa County team. The role focuses on students across K–12, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

You will conduct pediatric OT assessments, provide therapy, and help create IEP goals while collaborating with teachers, SLPs, and school staff. Master’s in OT and CA license required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and active California OT license.
• Experience with pediatric or school-based populations preferred.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pediatric OT assessments evaluating motor skills, sensory integration, and daily living skills.
• Provide individual and group therapy addressing sensory-motor needs.
• Develop and implement IEP goals for fine motor and self-regulation.
• Collaborate with teachers, SLPs, psychologists, and staff.
• Recommend and implement assistive technology and accommodations.
• Maintain documentation, progress reports, and state guidelines compliance.
• Attend IEP meetings and communicate with families.

We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our school-based team within Contra Costa County, working with students across K–12 settings.

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct pediatric occupational therapy assessments to evaluate students’ functional abilities, including fine/gross motor skills, sensory integration, and daily living skills
• Provide individual and group therapy to address sensory-motor needs and support student development
• Develop and implement IEP goals focused on fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and functional independence
• Collaborate with teachers, SLPs, psychologists, and other school staff to support student success
• Recommend and implement assistive technology and accommodations
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with school and state guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with families and staff members
