Job summary

Tooele County School District seeks a School-Based Mental Health Therapist (SBMHT) at Stansbury High School. Under supervision, you will evaluate students, plan interventions, and provide direct therapy to reduce anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges while supporting a positive school culture.

Must hold a master's degree in a mental health field and Utah licensure (LCSW/CMHC/MFT); dual USBE license preferred. Travel within the district and occasional extra hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a mental health field from an accredited college or university.
• Current, unrestricted Utah license as LCSW/CMHC/MFT; dual USBE licensure preferred.
• Typically 3+ years of school-based experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct professional evaluations of students' mental health conditions and emotional disorders.
• Prescribe and implement plans for intervention or treatment of mental illness or emotional disorders.
• Engage in direct therapy using established methods to promote mental wellness.
• Obtain informed parental consent before beginning restricted services each school year.
• Provide parents with notice within one business day after each service and discuss topics.
• Collaborate with parents to identify topics therapists are not authorized to address.
• Be a core member of MTSS teams to assess needs and develop strategies.
• Maintain confidential records in line with FERPA.
