Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work or related field minimally required; mental health license preferred.
• Experience working with behaviorally/emotionally challenged children/youth in a school-based mental health or day treatment setting preferred.
• Understanding of emotional disturbance and impact on behavior.
• Experience in development and implementation of treatment plans.
• Knowledge of group process and experience in facilitating groups.
• Communicate accurately and effectively, both written and orally.
• Demonstrate effective decision-making skills.
• Utilize good judgment under routine and stressful work conditions.
• Work professionally, effectively and collaboratively with others.

Responsibilities

• Align practice with agency mission and Trauma-informed Sanctuary Model®.
• Collaborate with team to provide integrated education and mental health services.
• Work with parents and professionals to implement program and achieve outcomes.
• Plan and deliver mental health services, including group meetings, using approved curricula.
• Document Mental Health Day Treatment services per guidelines.
• Develop, implement, and review client Individual Service Plans.
• Use positive behavioral supports to manage learning environment.
• Understand group dynamics and address diverse learning needs of clients.
• Implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention with fidelity to support treatment and reduce restraints.
• Complete duties within timeframes and follow safe work practices.
