Job summary

Meridian Health Services is seeking a School Based Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in a school-based clinic. The role involves patient flow, vital signs, exam room prep, and assisting providers with procedures in alignment with NCQA standards.

Travel for training and coverage at other locations may be required. Candidate should graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program, preferably with certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program; Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred
• Prefer six months to a year of work experience, preferably in clinic setting
• Previous pediatric experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license, a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with flow through the clinic and escort patients to exam rooms.
• Takes vital signs and prepares patients for assessment
• Prepares exam rooms and instruments for examination and testing, and maintains inventory of supplies
• Sterilizes instruments and assists providers with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Accurately triage walk-in patients and call-ins
• Stock supplies in medical rooms prior to all shifts
• Check expiration dates on all pharmacy and other stored products.
