Job summary

Blue Ridge Community Health Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time School Based Medical Assistant in Hendersonville, NC. The role involves assisting in a fast-paced medical office, obtaining vital signs, and performing basic medical procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medical documentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with delivering quality patient care.
• Obtain and record vital signs such as blood pressure and temperature.
• Perform basic medical procedures including blood draws and EKGs.

What You'll Do:

• Working in a fast-paced medical office setting
• Assisting providers with delivering quality patient care
• Obtaining and recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.)
• Performing basic medical procedures such as blood draws and EKGs
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
• Answering phones, responding to inquiries, and relaying information to providers
• Adhering to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
• Contributing to a positive and cooperative team environment

What We're Looking For:

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medical documentation preferred
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
• Medical Assistant Certification or Registered Medical Assistant preferred– Must obtain certification within 18 months of hire date if not currently certified
• Licensed Practical Nurses – NC licensure preferred (we will pay for your license renewal!)
• Medical phone triage experience preferred
• Ability to float between nearby clinical sites as needed
• Bi-Lingual (preferred, but not required – we pay extra per hour for your language skills)
