Job summary

Walker Therapeutic & Educational Programs seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for its Needham Campus. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the LPN provides routine medical care and emergency response across residential, group and school programs.

The role supports student health, maintains medical records, coordinates with families and staff, attends multidisciplinary meetings, and ensures first aid supplies are available. New grads welcome; weekend and holiday coverage required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Nursing and interest working with school-aged children.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine medical care to students.
• Provide emergency care to students if necessary.
• Administer medications to students at various times throughout the shift.
• Maintain medical records.
• Provide ongoing consultation to staff and attend required meetings.
• Ensure that first aid supplies are available in all necessary locations.
• Track and schedule medical, dental and lab appointments.
• Provide in-service training to staff.
• Communicate with parents/guardians/collaterals as needed.
• Support Nursing internships.
• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings as needed.
