Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse License required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Knowledgeable about communicable diseases and illness symptoms.
• Knowledgeable about emergency treatment and life-threatening referrals.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Flexibility and adaptability to different school settings.
• Willingness to complete required clearances and training (mandated reporter, physical, TB test).
• Physical, TB and Drug Test within one year.
• Mandated Reporter Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to ill and injured students per standing orders.
• Keep records in the student health software.
• Fill injury/accident reports when applicable.
• Order medical supplies for nurse’s office.
• Coordinate student medical orders with home school nurse and teachers.
• Participate in staff development and meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Support school district health services.
