Job summary

The Learning Lamp, in partnership with Ignite Education Solutions, is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses to support local school districts on a part-time basis. Hours align with the school schedule, offering a collaborative, supportive environment and growth opportunities in a community-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse license active in good standing.
• CPR and First Aid certification present.
• Knowledge of communicable diseases and emergency treatment.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Willingness to complete required clearances and training (TB test, etc.).
• Physical, TB and drug tests within one year.
• Mandated Reporter Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to ill and injured students per standing orders.
• Keep records of services in student health software.
• Fill injury/accident reports when applicable.
• Order medical supplies for the nurse's office.
• Coordinate orders with home school nurse and teachers, respecting confidentiality.
• Participate in staff development, meetings, and events as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality.

What are the duties and responsibilities?

• Provide medical care to ill and injured students according to list of standing orders provided by medical doctor
• Keep record of all services provided to students in computer charging software
• Fill out injury/accident reports when applicable on students injured
• Order medical supplies when needed for nurse’s office
• Coordinate student medical orders/needs as needed with students' home school nurse and teachers, as permitted following confidentiality requirements
• Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and/or special events as assigned
• Maintain confidentiality

What are the required qualifications?

• Licensed Practical Nurse License
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Knowledgeable in communicable diseases and symptoms of illness.
• Knowledgeable in emergency treatment and facilities available for referrals for life-threatening situations.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Flexibility and adaptability to different school settings.
• Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
• Physical, TB and Drug Test done within one year
