Job summary

UnityPoint Health in the Fort Dodge School District is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Professional to support student well-being in a school-based setting. You will conduct psychosocial assessments, provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices, develop treatment plans, and respond to safety concerns.

Collaborating with families, school staff, and community partners, you’ll help students thrive.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited school.
Licensed as an LMSW, LISW, LMFT, or PsyD in the State of Iowa.
Minimum of two years previous counseling experience in Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities

Processes referrals in a prompt, thorough manner.
Interviews patients, families, and community agencies representatives to obtain a comprehensive mental health evaluation and make appropriate treatment recommendations.
Provide individual, couple, family and group services to meet patient and family social and emotional needs.
Provide immediate intervention including supportive counseling in dealing with emergency situations.
Facilitate support groups for behavioral health as needed.
Maintain effective communication with coworkers, management, physicians and other professionals.
