Job summary

UnityPoint Health in the Fort Dodge School District is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Professional to support student well-being in a school-based setting. You will conduct psychosocial assessments, provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices, develop treatment plans, and respond to safety concerns.

Collaborating with families, school staff, and community partners, you’ll help students thrive.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited school.
• Licensed as an LMSW, LISW, LMFT, or PsyD in the State of Iowa.
• Minimum of two years previous counseling experience in Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities

• Processes referrals in a prompt, thorough manner.
• Interviews patients, families, and community agencies representatives to obtain a comprehensive mental health evaluation and make appropriate treatment recommendations.
• Provide individual, couple, family and group services to meet patient and family social and emotional needs.
• Provide immediate intervention including supportive counseling in dealing with emergency situations.
• Facilitate support groups for behavioral health as needed.
• Maintain effective communication with coworkers, management, physicians and other professionals.

We’re seeking a Licensed Mental Health Professional to support student mental health in the Fort Dodge School District. In this school-based role, you’ll conduct psychosocial assessments, provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices, develop treatment plans, and respond to safety concerns.
