Job summary

Grand Street Settlement in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Family Development Coach to manage the NDA program at a high school, coordinating student services and family resources five days a week. Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred or working towards it.
• A minimum of two years' experience in assessment, service planning, case management and intervention with adolescents; school involvement preferred.
• Two+ years collaborating with public schools and community-based organizations to help at-risk students.
• Complete the FDC program within a year of hire.
• Experience with assets/needs analysis, community organizing and resource networking.
• Flexible schedule including some weekends/evenings for events.
• Experience with low income families and communities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage a 35-student NDA program within the school setting.
• Provide monthly coaching to each student to develop service plans and goals.
• Coordinate strategies, services, and resources with school leadership and the NDA grant requirements.
• Supervise Activity Specialists; conduct workshops and group training.
• Connect families to community resources such as jobs and food assistance.
• Submit attendance and case data to DYCD CONNECT in a timely manner.
• Participate in ongoing professional development with GSS, DYCD and others.
