Job summary

San Felipe Pueblo seeks a Dental Assistant to provide direct patient services at the school clinic on site at San Felipe Elementary School, Head Start, and other community locations. You will work closely with the School Clinic Dental Hygienist to ensure access to essential dental and medical services for school-age Pueblo members.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of a dental assisting education program that meets credentialing standards.
• One year of dental assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists School Clinic Dental Hygienist and providers in dental procedures.
• Orders supplies and maintains stock for the dental/medical clinic.
• Sterilizes instruments and ensures OSHA/IHS compliance.
• Obtains intra- and extra-oral radiographs as trained.
• Maintains patient charts and coordinates appointment scheduling.
• Provides patient education on oral care following procedures.
• Assists with maintaining and updating patient information in Dentrix.
• Supports health education classes and community outreach activities.
