Job summary

HWS Best Health West Branch Schools Counseling Team is seeking a dedicated School-Based Counselor to provide compassionate mental health care to students and families within a school setting. You will conduct diagnostic assessments, obtain consent, and deliver individual and family counseling to support holistic well-being.

You will collaborate on treatment planning, work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and utilize telehealth platforms as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a mental health counselor (LPC or LPCC), clinical social worker (LSW or LISW), or psychologist (PsyD) in the state of Ohio.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, teenagers, adults, and families in a mental health setting.
• Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proficiency in telehealth platforms for virtual counseling sessions.

Responsibilities

• Complete Diagnostic Assessments: Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments to understand clients' needs and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Obtain Consent: Obtain consent for treatment and release of information forms in accordance with ethical and legal standards
• Provide Individual Counseling: Conduct individual counseling sessions to address clients' mental health concerns and promote well-being
• Family Sessions: Conduct family sessions as needed to address family dynamics and support holistic healing
• Support in Crisis Situations: Offer timely support and interventions in crisis situations to ensure clients' safety and well-being
• Develop Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique goals and challenges
