JOB TITLE: School Based Counselor- Mental Health Specialist III or IV
LOCATION: Heppner School District
FLSA: .83 FTE school based, exempt (Expectation to work 40 hrs/wk during school season)
SUPERVISOR: Clinical Supervisor
PAY GRADE: WAGES LISTED BELOW REFLECT THE PRO-RATED SALARY FOR A .83 FTE EMPLOYEE WORKING 40 hours per week with Summers off.
MHS IV - B12 ($61,337 - $92,628 annually, DOE) Exempt - Requires Doctorate or Licensure
MHS III - B11 ($56,025 - $83,996 annually, DOE) Exempt - Masters Required
MHS II w/ Variance - B09 ($47,061 - $68,641 annually, DOE) Non-Exempt (Hourly) - Must possess bachelors degree and be enrolled or willing to enroll in a Masters program within 4 months of hire.
Potential for 10% bilingual increase - Must pass a language test

DESCRIPTION
Provides culturally competent and appropriate behavioral health treatment to students at school districts covered by CCS. The position provides treatment in accordance with the Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) and the mission and values of CCS. The position works closely with the school and community partners; and is professional in all aspects of service delivery. Additionally, this position assists administration in meeting the behavioral health needs of the community they are based out of. As School Based Counselor you will primarily provide counseling services, including group, individual, prevention, education, and outreach to students within the school district, any alternative school, for higher risk, higher behavior students.

This position is supervised by the Clinical Supervisor of School Based Counselors.

This position does not supervise other employees.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
MHS IV - Doctorate degree in social work, psychology or related field, or master’s degree with LPC/LCSW/LMFT and licensure
MHS III - Master’s degree in social work, psychology or related field
MHS II w/ Variance - Bachelor’s degree and enrollment in a Master’s program within 4 months of hire
Certifications
If the employee holds a PhD, no certification is required. If the employee has a master’s degree, certification as LMFT, LPC or LCSW and good standing is required.
Must have or be able to obtain certification from the Department of Human Services as a Certified Mental Health Investigator.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS
Must pass all criminal history checks as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and OAR 410-007-0200 through 410-007-0380. Monthly checks against OIG and GSA lists and other agencies apply. Exclusion or sanctions will result in termination.
PRE HIRE DRUG SCREEN REQUIRED
PERSONAL AUTO INSURANCE
Must hold a valid driver's license and personal auto insurance for CCS business with minimum $300,000 bodily injury and $100,000 property damage coverage; CCS insurance is secondary. CCS may deny vehicle use at its discretion.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Typical office computer/phone tasks; seated work; occasional lifting up to 30 pounds; vision requirements; possible on-call sleep disturbances.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
School and community settings; moderate to loud noise at times; possible long-distance travel and occasional overnight stays for meetings/trainings; must sometimes work in client homes and communities.
