Job summary

New Braunfels Independent School District seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for Special Education to provide direct and indirect occupational therapy under supervision. The goal is to help students benefit from their education and participate effectively in class.

Requires Texas COTA license, OTA credential, and an Associate degree. Pediatric/school experience preferred. Full-time, on-site in New Braunfels, wage $28.33 per hour.

• Knowledge of rehabilitation procedures, techniques and equipment.
• Ability to implement therapy programs and adapt activities to student needs.
• Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage student behavior and collaborate across settings.
• Ability to prioritize, problem-solve and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct Services: implement treatment plans; deliver safe, effective interventions; monitor progress; document outcomes; participate in ARD/IEP.
• Consultation: train staff/parents; collaborate with teachers and families; provide support.
• Student Management: ensure a safe, positive learning environment; reinforce expectations.
• Program Management: support therapy initiatives; select and maintain adaptive equipment; build relationships with students and families.
• Administrative Duties: maintain documentation; follow policies and ensure compliance.
