Job summary

West Valley School District in Yakima, WA seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to implement therapeutic interventions for students’ fine and gross motor skills under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.

You will adapt classroom environments, assist with evaluations, attend IEP meetings, collaborate with teachers and families, and maintain student records while providing direct OT services aligned with IEP goals.

Qualifications

• COTA credentials are required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; CPR/First Aid may be required.
• Bilingual preferred

Responsibilities

• Adapt environment and materials under supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
• Assist with assessing students' motor and development skills to determine deficits.
• Attend meetings and workshops (IEPs, etc.)
• Consult with therapists, teachers and families to develop service plans
• Provide direct OT services according to IEP goals
• Maintain records and progress notes
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment
• Prepare written materials and reports
• Transport materials for therapy sessions
