Job summary

EDU Healthcare is seeking a school-based Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our Illinois team for the 2026-2027 school year. You will provide evaluations, therapy, and support to students while collaborating with teachers, parents, and staff to help each student reach communication goals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• NBCOT exam passed and current COTA certification.
• Active state licensure or ability to obtain before start.
• Knowledge of school-based therapy practices and IEP processes.
• Experience working with children in educational settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising OTs in delivering therapy per IEPs.
• Provide direct support to students to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
• Adapt classroom activities and learning materials to meet individual student needs.
• Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to the OT for planning.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to integrate therapy goals into classroom routines.
• Participate in IEP meetings and team discussions as required.
• Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with school and district guidelines.
