Job summary

Windham Central Supervisory Union seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to implement therapy for students under supervision of an Occupational Therapist and Director of Student Services. The role focuses on improving fine and gross motor skills, perceptual-motor function, and activities of daily living within the school environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required for OTA role.
• Vermont OTA license/certificate current and valid.
• Experience in IDEA policy and procedures is expected.
• Familiarity with FERPA and HIPAA regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct occupational therapy services according to IEP goals.
• Modify school environments, tools, and materials under OT supervision.
• Assist OT in assessing students' fine motor and developmental skills.
• Collaborate with therapists, teachers, and families to update goals and plans.
• Prepare and maintain patient records and Medicaid logs as required.
• Maintain and transport therapy equipment and materials; order supplies as needed.
• Attend IEP meetings and trainings to share information and best practices.
• Communicate student performance data to caregivers and staff.
