Job summary

Port View Preparatory is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to help design and deliver engaging therapy programs for students with autism and developmental disabilities under the supervision of a licensed OT.

You will plan student-centered interventions, support IEP goals, and train staff to carry over therapeutic techniques in the classroom, ensuring inclusive, supportive learning environments.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years of experience as a COTA (school-based experience preferred).
• Collaborative spirit and passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to fostering inclusive and engaging learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement meaningful, student-centered intervention programs with supervising OT.
• Support students' IEP goals by providing accommodations and strategies aligned with OT recommendations.
• Train teachers and staff to ensure carryover of therapeutic techniques in the classroom.
• Collaborate with educators, families, and specialists to promote student success.
• Participate in team meetings to shape supportive learning environments.
• Assist with instructional support and pre-referral activities (non-evaluative).
• Create and adapt materials to enhance participation and independence.
• Contribute to progress reporting and documentation with supervising OT.
• Deliver individual, group, and consultative interventions across school settings.
• Help manage caseload responsibilities consistent with district and OT standards.
