Job summary

Northern Rivers Family of Services is seeking a full-time clinician at the Schenectady, NY Student Counseling Center to support school success for children and families. The clinician will assess needs, set goals, and coordinate with schools to implement IEPs and monitor progress.

Responsibilities include providing therapeutic services, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with OCFS/DOE requirements.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
  • NYS Licensure preferred: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, MHC-LP.
  • NYS Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Assess individuals and families to support school success.
  • Identify problem areas, treatment goals, and methods to attain goal leading to improved performance at school.
  • Assist school personnel when behavioral situations occur involving students on your caseload.
  • Work with education team and local school district to develop an Individual Education Plan and monitor progress.
  • Provide therapeutic services to child and family using differential modalities.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop a comprehensive treatment plan and monitor progress.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence with referring and collateral agencies.
  • Record and maintain case records per OCFS, DOE, and state mandates.
  • Participate in intake assessments and engage with teaching staff and parents.
