Job summary

Blount County Schools in Hayden seeks a Master-level Counselor to provide assessment, individual and group therapy, and mental health services for students with emotional/behavioral needs. The role includes care coordination with school and community resources and documentation in EMR.

The counselor will deliver therapy with attention to behavior modification and family engagement, under supervision, with flexible hours to meet client needs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, social work or counseling with emphasis on clinical service for children/adolescents.
• Two years’ experience working with children/adolescents with a serious emotional disturbance preferred.
• Licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing, evaluating and assessing for mental health needs of children/families.
• Provide individual, group and family therapy with emphasis on behavior modification and evidence-based approaches.
• Develop individualized service plans and coordinate care with school and community resources.
• Document charts daily in EMR including assessments, plans and referrals.
• Participate in weekly staffings with supervisor and on-call rotations.
