Job summary

Gateway’s Georgia Apex Program is seeking a Child & Adolescent Therapist to deliver mental health services in Effingham County public schools. The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, and involves collaboration with school staff to provide evidence-based therapy to students.

Responsibilities include intake, assessment, developing treatment plans, delivering individual/family/group counseling, and coordinating with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must have already completed master’s degree in counseling, social work or related human services field.
• Associate license (LAMFT, LAPC, LMSW) or full licensure (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) in Georgia is preferred.
• Must be license eligible in Georgia if not associate or fully licensed.
• Strong interest in child and adolescent mental health services.
• Comfortable working in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides school-based mental health therapy to children and adolescents in the elementary, middle and/or high school setting.
• Work closely with school counselors, teachers, and other school staff.
• Conduct intake, screening, assessment, and referral of clients as appropriate.
• Establish individual treatment plans with clients and guardians; update as needed.
• Provide individual, family and/or group counseling using evidence-based interventions.
• Evaluate progress toward goals and document outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality according to policies; ensure proper consent and authorization.
• Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with interdisciplinary team.
• Document all services in electronic health records and ensure compliance.

Education

Master’s degree in counseling, social work or related human services field
