The School-Based Behavior Support Paraeducator provides school-wide support to students with Tier 1+ and Tier 2 behavioral, social-emotional, and engagement needs across general educational settings in grades 6–8. This role supports the development of positive classroom and school environments through relationship-building, restorative practices, student check-in/check-out systems, classroom reintegration support, and targeted behavioral interventions. The paraeducator collaborates with teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff to monitor student progress, implement intervention plans, collect and document behavioral data, and provide proactive support that promotes student belonging, accountability, and success. The position also assists in crisis response and de-escalation in accordance with established school and district protocols while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and district expectations.
