Job summary

Paycom - ATS in La Verne, CA 91750 is seeking a Behavior Technician/Paraprofessional to assist in implementing IEPs for students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom. The role involves one-on-one support, behavior plan implementation, and data collection under supervision of a BCBA.

The position requires completing a 40-hour ABA training or being RBT certified, plus demonstrated knowledge of child guidance and safety procedures. Prior autism experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 48+ college units completed preferred.
• Must complete a 40-hour training and competency exam on applied behavior analysis or be RBT certified.
• Working knowledge of child guidance principles and practices, basic academic subjects, safe classroom practices, and health and safety regulations.
• Previous experience working with children with autism.
• Ability to pass Pro-ActTraining and CPR Training.

Responsibilities

• Supports the assigned classroom teacher with classroom documentation and creation of student materials.
• Ensures every student has a working behavior plan written by the BCBA and implemented by the behavior technician, including data collection for interventions and IEPs.
• Works with students one-on-one to reinforce instruction and develop academic and functional skills.
• Reports progress regarding student behavior and performance to the teacher/BCBA.
• Assists in maintaining health and safety of students and assists with emergency/crisis interventions as needed.
