Job summary

The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh is seeking a Behavior and Instruction Technician for The Day School. You will support students with function-based ABA interventions, collect data, and implement strategies under the guidance of a special education teacher and behavior specialist.

Responsibilities include monitoring students in daily activities, documenting progress, and participating in planning meetings to tailor instruction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; a four-year degree in Education or related field is preferred.
• Experience with children, especially in educational settings, is preferred.
• Clearances: Act 73 FBI, Act 34 Criminal Clearance, Act 33 Child Abuse
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred (CI will provide training)

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist students in daily routines across classroom activities and settings.
• Assist in collecting and documenting data for behavioral or academic progress.
• Initiate and follow through with behavioral interventions as designated by the teacher.
• Communicate with all team members regarding student progress and concerns.
• Participate in planning meetings regarding classroom curricular expectations and student needs.
• Facilitate teaching procedures for small groups including errorless learning and verbal behavior techniques.
