Job summary

TheraPeds Partners is seeking an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter for the 2026–2027 school year in Lone Tree, Colorado. This full‑time, on‑site role provides guaranteed hours and is school-based with support from TheraPeds and the district.

You will work with deaf or hard of hearing students to ensure communication access throughout the school day, interpreting lessons, discussions, and activities, and supporting IEP meetings and events.

Qualifications

• Training or degree in ASL/English Interpreting, Educational Interpreting, Deaf Studies, or related field.
• Appropriate interpreter licensure/credentialing for assignment.
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language and English.
• Experience with children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Responsibilities

• Provide ASL interpreting between students, teachers, staff, and peers.
• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, assignments, and activities.
• Support communication during IEP meetings, assemblies, field trips, and events.
• Facilitate communication while promoting student independence and self-advocacy.
• Collaborate with DHH teachers, general and special education staff, SLPs, audiologists, and other professionals.
• Maintain professional boundaries and student confidentiality.
• Prepare for classroom content to provide accurate interpretation.
• Follow IEPs, communication plans, and district procedures.
• Support access across academic, social, and extracurricular environments.
