Job summary

Surpass Behavioral Health is seeking a school-based Behavior Technician to deliver 1:1 ABA therapy to students with autism in a Springfield School District setting. You will join a mission-driven team and provide evidence-based interventions under supervision of a BCBA.

The role focuses on data collection, collaboration with teachers and staff, and ensuring a safe, supportive learning environment. Training to obtain RBT certification is provided, along with mentorship and opportunities for BCBA

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor or Associate Degree in behavioral health, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Special Education, or related field preferred
• Valid driver license and ability to travel to various schools within assigned region
• Ability to acquire RBT certification within 45 days of hire date, with training provided by Surpass Behavioral Health
• Prior professional experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in a multi-disciplinary team setting is a plus
• Works with integrity and adheres to the BACB Ethical Code, HIPAA practices, and company policies
• Ability to move freely, quickly, and frequently from a seated position to a standing position and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of positive behavior support plans, IEP, and/or 504 plans utilizing ABA principles in the school setting.
• Provide direct 1:1 and/or small group therapy to identified student(s) to implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction interventions as directed by the BCBA.
• Implement and report data on programs such as student’s IEP goals, behavioral management, social skills and academic areas.
• Collaborate, communicate, and assist with the training of school district staff.
• Provide a safe and supportive environment for students and school teams.
• Implements the student’s behavior intervention plan and/or safety plan as developed by the BCBA.
• Collect and analyze skill acquisition and challenging behavior data, with oversight and supervision provided by a BCBA.
