Job summary

Grosse Pointe Public School System is seeking a contracted Athletic Trainer to provide services at Grosse Pointe North High School through EduStaff. The role supports student-athlete health, injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and emergency care.

The successful candidate will work with the Athletic Director, coaches, parents/guardians, physicians, and healthcare professionals, ensuring safe practices and timely care within the district’s athletic program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in athletic training or related field.
• BOC certification as Athletic Trainer (ATC) is required.
• Valid Michigan Athletic Trainer license or eligibility to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

• Develop injury-prevention programs for coaches and athletes.
• Evaluate and treat injured student-athletes and triage when needed.
• Communicate with families, providers, coaches, and staff while protecting privacy.
• Document injuries, treatments, rehab, and return-to-play per policy.
• Follow physician-directed treatment and rehab protocols.
• Advise on proper equipment fit and maintenance.
• Assist with athletic training room operations and inventory.
• Provide coverage for practices and events as scheduled.
• Collaborate with AD and administration for safe practice environments.
• Develop and review Emergency Action Plans for venues.
• Inform guardians about injuries and follow-up care.
• Coordinate with coaches on participation restrictions.
• Provide other related athletic training services as needed.
