Job summary

The City of New York is seeking a 2026-2027 School Aide for District 12 in BX, NY. Under supervision, you will relieve teachers of non-teaching tasks and assist with clerical and supervisory duties for students.

Responsibilities include monitoring lunch service, handling materials, guiding students during arrivals, departures, and drills, and supporting the school team with routine tasks. Bilingual candidates may be considered. Prior experience with students is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent record of attendance and punctuality.
• Demonstrated ability to work with supervisors and other school-based staff.
• Demonstrated history of good human relations.
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods of the day.
• Ability to lift objects weighing no more than 10 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Relieves teachers of non-teaching duties under supervision.
• Monitors hallways, lunchroom, and study areas.
• Assists with clerical tasks of routine nature.
• Assists with lunch service and supervises students during meals.
• Manages arrival and departure of students and bus riders.
• Supports with textbook handling and distribution of materials.
• Maintains order during daily activities and drills.
