Job summary

Brightway Living & Learning is seeking a School Age Teaching Assistant to join our program on the New York campus. This full-time, hourly role supports teachers by implementing IEPs, tracking student progress, and assisting with classroom activities in a self-contained setting following Applied Behavior Analysis principles.

The position offers ongoing training and opportunities for career growth within a 12-month calendar program. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess an initial TA Certification or NYSL1 Teaching Assistant Certification.
• Must demonstrate an interest in working with students with disabilities.
• Must demonstrate good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in implementing IEPs.
• Collect student behavior and performance data as directed by the teacher.
• Help conduct basic instructional activities and supervise students.
• Attend required in-services and trainings.
• Participate in performance reviews/discussions.
• Maintain proper class ratio in varying assignments.
• Follow School Age Program Handbook policies.
• Supervise substitutes in the teacher's absence.
• Implement behavior support plans and safety procedures.
• Assist student arrivals and bus departure.
• Maintain NYSL1 TA certification after expiration.
• Other duties as assigned.
