Job summary

Brightway Living & Learning in New York seeks a part-time Teaching Assistant to support the Children's Day Program. You will assist in implementing IEPs, collect data, supervise students, and help maintain safety and classroom routines in a self-contained setting, following ABA principles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Teaching Assistant 27.5(DDITA) must complete NYSED requirements and apply for TA Level I certification within 6 months and receive certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in directly implementing IEPs.
• Collect student behavior and performance data as directed by the teacher.
• Assist in basic instructional activities and in helping with safety and supervision of students.
• Accept assignments in varying classes to maintain proper ratio in class groups.
• Supervise the Substitute Teacher Assistant in the Teacher’s absence.
• Assist in student arrival from the buses and dismissal to the buses.
• Accompany assigned students if they leave the building for programmatic or emergency reasons.
• Be familiar with all policies in the School Age Program's Handbook for Staff.
• Participate in performance reviews/discussions.
• Other duties as assigned.
