Job summary

Gingerbread Littleversity is seeking a School Age Teacher to support K-5 classrooms. Qualified candidates will have EDU 119 credentials and prior licensed classroom experience. A driver is required for the center van and applicants must be 21+.

The position runs Monday through Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm, paying $17–$19 per hour, depending on education and experience. We offer competitive pay, paid trainings, a benefits package with dental, medical, and vision insurance, and a 401k with match.

Gingerbread Littleversity is a licensed childcare center seeking a School Age Teacher to support our K-5 classrooms!

To be QUALIFIED for the Teacher role, we require early childhood credentials (EDU 119) and experience in a licensed classroom setting. Higher education in early childhood preferred. The ability to pass all background checks is also required.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

Please note the School Age Teacher will be required to drive the passenger van. Applicants must also be 21+ years of age.

Compensation: $17 - $19 per hour, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the supervision of school age children and meeting the daily physical, emotional and social needs of the children in their care.
• Responsible for driving children to and from school and occasionally for classroom field trips.
• Arrange Lesson Plans and curriculum on a weekly basis in coordination with the monthly theme and that meet the developmental needs of the children and that meet the expectations of SACERS (School Age Care Environmental Rating Scales).
• Responsible for establishing a professional level of communication with each family member to provide quality care for each child. On-going communication in all aspects relating to the children in their room with the parents and the Center Director is crucial for quality care.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
