The Springfield YMCA is seeking creative and versatile staff to join our School Age team in our kindergarten program. The ideal candidate excels at teamwork, creating a safe environment, and has knowledge of child development and DHS requirements.

Join us for part-time shifts that support morning and afternoon classes, lead engaging activities, supervise buses, and partner with teachers to support children's growth in a nurturing YMCA setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree with 30 credits in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• 2 years (2500 hours) documented experience working with children.
• CPR/AED and Pediatric First Aid (or ability to obtain within 15 days).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Commitment to professional growth and working with diverse populations.

Job description

The Springfield YMCA is seeking creative and versatile staff to join our School Age team working directly with our kindergarten program. The ideal candidate excels working with a team, creating a safe environment, and has knowledge of child development as well as DHS requirements.

Available shifts and essential functions are listed below:

7:00am-9:30am: Support the program, lead games and activities, then escort children by bus to their half day kindergarten program and return to the Springfield YMCA on the bus then assist the teachers on site at the YMCA.

11:00am-1:00pm: Supporting classrooms on site at the YMCA as well as assist with supervision for mid-day bus runs.

2:30pm-4:30pm: Lead and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate games and activities as children learn best through play and movement.
