JOB DESCRIPTION SCHOOL AGE SITE COORDINATOR

The School Age Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the after school program that aids a child in their academic, social, emotional, cognitive & physical growth.

REPORTS TO: School Age Program Administrator

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Hourly

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure that school age program conforms to health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Ensure all children’s files in classroom are kept up-to-date and organized and prepare list of missing items for School Age Program Administrator to complete
  • Create Sign In & Sign Out sheets for classrooms weekly.
  • Maintain detailed inventory of all classroom and snack supplies.
  • Prepare orders of supplies and food needed for approval by the School Age Program Administrator at least one week in advance.
  • Capture photos of activities and send to School Age Administrator for use on social media.
  • Serve as back up to shop for supplies and food in absence of primary person assigned.
  • Report any site specific repairs to school and/or WCC maintenance staff.
  • Develop and execute plan for community engagement – visits to local places, inviting guests into classrooms related to themes to enhance children’s learning experiences.
  • Conduct on-going observation and assessment of school age staff.
  • Update parent boards as needed.
  • Coordinate and participate in regular curriculum planning, implementation, reflection and evaluation for school age programming.
  • Participate in intake meetings with prospective parents for the school age program as needed.
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally to parents, children and colleagues
  • Attend all meetings and training sessions as mandated by your supervisor which may include evening and weekend hours
  • Support WCC/RYC fundraisers and free events for families
  • Follow through with all WCC directives, assigned tasks and projects in a professional and positive manner, respecting supervision and constructive criticism
  • Maintain a plan for own professional development (IPDP)
  • Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee may be asked to perform other duties related to child care administration as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
  • EEC School Age Site Coordinator requirements
  • Meet EEC requirements of CPR, First Aid, CORI, SORI, and Fingerprinting and a physical
  • Physical, mental and emotional ability to accomplish the job, including evacuating the building, with or without corrective devices and accommodations, including the ability to read and write, to hear the conversational voice, to speak and be understood and the ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds in an emergency
  • Meet EEC requirements for professional development hours completed each year and enter them into the PQ Registry. This must include the minimum requirement for Diverse Learners
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word and email
  • Strong customer service, administrative and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills including: written and interpersonal
