Job summary

Join our School Age Program as a Personal Support Staff for the 2026 - 2027 School Year at The Y in Wisconsin. You’ll guide an elementary student through daily activities before and after school, helping transitions between enrichment, play, meals, and social time.

You’ll work with the School Age team across La Crosse, Onalaska and Holmen districts to create a positive, engaging experience while ensuring safety and supportive mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate fun and engaging group activities such as games, sports, swimming, arts and crafts, field trips, and STEM activities.

• Provide mentorship and maintain behavior expectations for elementary kids using positive guidance techniques.
• Ensure healthy meals and snacks are distributed daily as part of the Y’s Youth Food Program.

Join our School Age Program as a Personal Support Staff for the 2026 - 2027 School Year!

In this unique support role, you’ll be paired with an elementary student to help guide them through their daily activities before and after school. You will play a key role in the School Age team, who aim to create a positive, engaging experience for all — while supporting your student with transitions between enrichment activities, physical play, healthy meals, and social interaction. Our program is based in the elementary schools in the La Crosse, Onalaska, and Holmen school districts. We are looking to grow our team and influence the future of our community!

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate fun andengaging group activities such as games, sports, swimming,arts and crafts, field trips, and STEMactivities
• Buildrelationships with elementary kids and families

Hoursand Locations:

• Positions available during the school year, Monday-Friday, 6-25 hours per week
  
• Can work up to two shifts a day: 6:00-8:15 am and 3:00-6:00 pm / or 2:15-6:00 pm at some locations
  
• School Age Leaders will work on-site at an elementary school in the La Crosse, Onalaska, or Holmen school districts
  

Requirements

• Atleast 18 years of age with a high schooldiploma or at least 16 years of age withadditional training provided
• CPR certificationwithin 3 months of hire date
• Some childdevelopment courses or experience preferred
• Reliability andclear communication
