Horizon Education Centers in Elyria, OH is seeking a School Age Lead Teacher to engage school-age children with meaningful learning experiences after school hours. The role involves planning activities, supervising a group of children, and collaborating with staff and families.

Responsibilities include homework help, lesson planning, classroom management, and documenting progress. Split shifts are available, with full-time summer coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a school age setting preferred.
• Willingness to obtain School Age Endorsement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Homework assistance in one-on-one and small group settings; check work and ensure completion if possible.
• Plan and implement engaging age-appropriate lesson plans for classroom activities and clubs.
• Responsible for the care and supervision of children and classroom management at all times in accordance with licensing standards and best practices.
• Work independently with a group of children and as a leader for the team with other teachers, leads, center staff and the director.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and other staff members through prompt and accurate response and service, cheerful and professional attitude, and problem-solving spirit.
• Manage a classroom environment that is fun and engaging.
• Complete and document services provided, such as progress reports, attendance screenings, and assessments as required.
• Provide functional classroom support and assist with meal service as required.
• May be required to assist with center transportation plans.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with personnel and family information.
• All other duties as needed/assigned
