Healthy Kids Programs in Connecticut is seeking School-Age Childcare Staff for our Before and After School Programs for the 2026–2027 school year. You will supervise and engage students aged 5–12 in activities like fitness, STEAM, art, and homework, within a safe, structured setting.

Ideal candidates are reliable, patient, and team-oriented, with a passion for helping children learn through play. Part-time shifts follow the school calendar, with opportunities for morning, afternoon, or both.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities from the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, arts, homework).
• Provide a safe, healthy, fun environment and model positive behavior for children.
• Follow state guidelines and program policies; ensure safety and compliance.
• Assist with attendance, registration, and staffing as needed.

PAY: $16.98 - $18.44 per hour

Schedule: Follows the school calendar

Morning Program: 7:00 AM - 8:50 AM

Afternoon Program: 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Position Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands‑on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
